- If you probe deep enough you will find contradictory things in the same place. - That is what she feels while she is producing her works.
Contradictory things are light and dark, cold and warm, flow and standstill, etc. She captures such contrasts of my inner world, or more specifically her unconscious world in pictures of the outside world and combine them into a single thing.
Taking photos with a digital camera and superimposing layers in Photoshop feels more like painting than photography. Through this process her own self is drawn into the unconscious realm and becomes one with a greater flow.
Upon taking sight of the completed work the title will come to her, and her journey through the unconscious world will come to an end.
By venturing into the realm she is generally incognizant of she can look deeper into herself and open her eyes to the world.
「相反するものは極限までつきつめると、同じ場所に在る」
そんなことを感じながら制作をしている。
相反するものは光と闇であったり、冷たさと暖かさであったり、流れと停止であったり。
自分の内面世界、あるいは無意識の世界におけるそのような要素を、
外の世界から写真でとりこみひとつの作品としていく。
デジタルカメラで撮影した写真をパソコンに取り込んで、Photoshopでレイヤーを重ねて
仕上げていく作業は、写真というより絵を描く感覚に近い。
そのプロセスは自分が無意識の領域に吸い込まれ、自分を超えた大きな流れと一体になる作業でもある。
仕上げた作品を眺め、タイトルがおりてくると無意識の世界での旅を終えることになる。
普段意識しない領域に踏み込むことで、より深く自分を見つめ、そして世界を見つめる。
